In Commemoration with 108th Jayanthi Celebration of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivaratri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, Department of PG studies in Swasthavritta organized a Health Awareness Talk for the Police force at Police Bhavan on 27.09.2023.
The Yoga Awareness Talk Programme was conducted to enlighten and enrich the participants about the many health benefits by practicing yoga and to inspire individuals to incorporate this ancient practice into their lives. The event was conceived to motivate all participants embark on a journey of improved health and well-being through yoga.
The event was inaugurated by Sri. M. Murthy, Police Sub inspector who addressed the gathering and introduced about the hospital and the guests.
The inception of the Programme:
Dr. Sarbeswar Kar, Principal & Medical Superintendent, JSS Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, thanked for the opportunity given to conduct the event and briefed on the History of Yoga highlighting its origin, and its evolution into the global phenomena.
Dr Sudhakar Reddy, Professor, Department -Swasthavritta stressed the importance of yoga in today’s fast-paced world and emphasized its potential to improve physical and mental well-being.
Dr. Sushmitha C T Assistant Professor, Swasthavritta Dept presented a comprehensive knowledge about yoga, its health benefits, and balanced living. Topics included yoga postures, breathing exercises, stress relief, immunity enhancement, and mental health benefits. Scientific evidence for yoga’s positive effects on cardiovascular health, flexibility, and stress reduction was highlighted. Practical demonstrations of mindful eating and yoga practices were showcased, offering immediate benefits to participants. Additionally, the adverse effects of excessive social media use were discussed.
The Yoga Awareness Talk Programme concluded with vote of thanks by Mr Arun, Police head constable, he expressed gratitude to all the attendees, the guest speaker, and the organizing committee for their efforts in making the event a success. He also encouraged the audience to continue exploring the world of yoga and to practice it regularly for their physical and mental well-being.
