Mysuru, July 26, 2021: The JSS Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital celebrated Guru Purnima on July 24, 2021, at the Ayurvedic herb garden ‘Dhanwantripraakara.’
Along with the College and Hospital staff, the students offered floral tributes to the portraits of Suttur seers.
In his introductory speech, Dr. B. Gurubasavaraju, the senior medical officer recalled the contributions of the earlier pontiffs of Suttur Srimath. He explained the importance given to the gurus in Indian tradition and said their teachings will always remain a guide for all. He also explained the importance of a teacher in reaching the goal right from ancient times to today’s scientific era.
Dr. Sarabeshwar, Principal and Medical Superintendent welcomed all. He said that the including the present pontiff all the earlier seers of the Suttur Srimath have been guides to the entire world. “All their thoughts and teachings are relevant even today. Including parents, relatives and well-wishers are also equal to teachers. Guru Purnima is a day when we all express our gratitude to them,” he added.
In his speech Standing Medical Officer Dr. Krishnaprasad recalled the influence of teachers in primary, secondary, and higher education and gave a vote of thanks.
Earlier the program commenced with an invocation by Dr. Aparna Surendra. Prasada was distributed to all after offering Mahamangalarathi.
All the teaching and non-teaching staff and students took part in the program.
